EAS cable to reset received, plugged in, all hell breaks loose!

I didn't have to do the EKA code - used a tip of RR.net to have the key in position 2 when connecting the battery, and I disconnected the battery when the car was not locked / immobilised...

EAS cable to reset received, plugged in, all hell breaks loose!

yeah tried that Gav as that seemed logical, but still got the msg. will give it another go tomorrow tho. FYI - EAS pump coming on quite frequently still, so think it's going to end up going the same way, but can't see any leaks. When I managed to get the rear raised before battery totally...

EAS cable to reset received, plugged in, all hell breaks loose!

Either way it's undriveable so it makes no difference. If I can't sort it, it gets sorted. No big deal.

EAS cable to reset received, plugged in, all hell breaks loose!

For a number of reasons mainly being I’m no stranger to laptops, serial cables, software and cars. So, what looked like a 2 minute job to get the thing back on the road (especially after I believe I found the leak on the air dryer) it seemed quick, easy and cheap to fix, without the hassle of a...

EAS cable to reset received, plugged in, all hell breaks loose!

Cheers guys. Spoke with the garage who sold me the EAS reset kit, he said dead battery will give symptoms im experiencing. Said it will not have damaged BECM, charge battery and it should be ok. Apparently RR's give fault codes when there is not enough power in the system?? Will get a...

EAS cable to reset received, plugged in, all hell breaks loose!

Ok guys, whats my next logical steps here? Take the battery out, recharge. When I put it back, I eill then have to do the EKA code?? Never done this. What are the chances the BECM is now blown due to all this? Without a battery and power will the BECM not reset once power is back...

EAS cable to reset received, plugged in, all hell breaks loose!

Well, thanks to all the on topic responders :-) The car started before I did anything, it was a little slower than usual turning over, but I didn't suspect a flat battery. So I switched off the ignition and connected up the cable and laptop, started the software, then put the ignition to on...

    o-ring temp fix?

Thanks for the response, from memory (car not near me right now) the pipes are side by side, not 1 top one bottom? its a 99/v reg if that makes any difference? Anyway, i'll mark the pipes and try this quick fix/workaround. I'd hope I can avoid an air lock carrying out this work, any tips...

    o-ring temp fix?

Guys Is there a temporary fix to coolant loss through the heater o-rings by disconnecting the two pipes in the engine bay and putting a new pipe on, connecting the inlet/outlet pipes together in the engine bay, to create a direct link between the two. Basically, my o-rings are leaking causing...

My P38 and the odd problem...

Hi all Ok, I’ve now had my 99 P38 for 2 months and covered a shade under 2000 miles, relatively trouble free, though I’ve had a few quirky yet expected things. One thing that happened yesterday and driving in to work today though – engine was running rough, not too bad, but noticeably with a...

So my P38 was parked up for 12 days...

... whilst I was away, and now I'm back, so hi all. Couple of things since returning tho - Battery kept enough charge to crank the engine and start it first time no probs. However, rear drivers side air suspension had lowered, and the pump didnt kick in. Started to drive home (as left it at...

Bit of steam when took off the water expansion tank cap?

Is this normal? After running fo 45mins on way in to work, checked coolant level, which was ok, took off cap, bit of steam and water in tank quite hot! (could just reach with a finger) Water level didnt change, no back pressure. Temp was fine all the way to work, sitting just left of center, as...
