re the interior light. behind a panel in the passenger footwell is a large electrical plug. from memory i think its the lower one. the pin for the white/purple wire can corode due to water ingress. i bypassed the pin and now have an interior light.

unfortunatly for me. the water had got past the filter and into the pump/compressor. the pump can be pulled apart. after drying out it was fine.

i see where your coming from. but i`m assuming that his egr removal kit for a d2 is similar to the one on mine. and that it`s just a blanking plate.

an alternative to even trying to get it out, and this is a bodge i know. just bolt the blanking plate on with one bolt, a larger washer and plenty of exhaust sealer. if nothing else, you`ll be able to use the vehicle until a more thorough job can be done.

mine blew the same fuse once. it was because my pump was full of water. maybe not the same in your case, but worth a look.

rightly or wrongly. i`ve been under the impression that you need a speedo to pass the mot. but that its never checked to see that it actually does work. thats my experience of 30 odd years of mot`s on bikes and cars.
