repair to tailgate window

just repaired the back window on my freelander using the wire repair kit from eBay (very easy job ) but one the dealerships don't want to do and would rather sell you a new regulator and motor for £243 plus £75 to fit.

If i could get hold of some broken regulators i could repair them and do an exchange service for a third of the price and be environmentally friendly.

do you think the dealerships would sell me the broken ones let say £20 each ???

i have replaced the battery on my freelander and the tailgate window wont stay shut, the garage want to replace the part but i have told them that theres nothing wrong with the part, the window has only started acting up after replacing the battery. i need help someones help
