Freelander 1 tailgate upper window trim

hi all l need some advice on how to remove trim above tailgate window. As my window regulator has gone and can not open boot to enable repair. And it looks like the trim is removable but is that from inside or outside. Cheers for any help

It's normally a one way operation, meaning removing it normally scraps it or the flange it clips to.

Have you tried pushing the glass down?
If the regulator cables have failed, the window will often push down enough for the door to be opened.

Thanks for info have managed to open it by gently lifting trim.have fitted new regulator. Just need to figure out how to tension cables as window does not drop down fully I have to pull it down about an inch then it stops.

Have you calibrated the window?

Yep done that. Looks like the switch in tailgate lock not working properly

You can hack that from the outside, simply by removing the lock switch assembly.
