Hi, After having the Disco repeatedly throw all the warning lights on and grind to a halt only to restart fine I reluctantly bit the bullet and had a new high pressure fuel pump fitted at a shade under £1000. The car now runs great, really great,it has way more power and is a delight to drive again. However, the mechanic flashed the ecu with an updated programme and now I've got a constant EML light on as it's looking for EGR valves that were removed and blanked off by an previous owner (I hadn't noticed to be fair)
To remove the EML the garage is telling me I have to either refit the EGRs at £232 or go for a remap at £250. Is there any other way to get around this as I don't really want to spend any more hard earned cash unless I have to.
Thanks Ian

Did you ask for PTM update? If the flash was done without your permission, removing a previous EGR removal flash, then really that's down to the technician, and you shouldn't have to pay extra for it.

Yes it's a bit of a difficult one as I've been using the chap for years and he does an excellent job, so I'm loathe to put pressure on him to stump up for the EGR remap. I was just wondering if there was some other way around the issue.
Oh and it's a 2008 2.7 HE with 170k on the clock

Post 2007 needs the egr mapping ou if blanked, so sounds like your guy has messed up, if hes been good to you, that means you have been a good cusomer for him, so see if he will do a deal and go halves?
