EGR stuff

Hi all,
Having laboured over hours of EGR delete stuff. I thought, "why not just stick a blanking plate in somewhere?" So, I've put one in at the right hand side of the cooler. When our new starter arrives, we'll see how it goes.

Hi, welcome to the asylum, might be handy if you nip over to 'introduce yourself' . It never goes a miss if we know what vehicle type/year/ engine you have & pictures, we all love pictures . On my D2 (& done by many) I blanked the egr as the removal kits are easily spotted on mot tests,see pic, all the best.

Hi mate

Talking of EGR removal kits Ive seen half a dozen that have failed due to the pipes missing and were noticed by an mot examiner

but seen none that’s failed what ur good self and many others including my self by just placing a blank between the egr and pipes

Neither of my last two MOT testers spotted it but then it is under the engine cover, so not easy.
But I have kept all the gear just in case one does somehow see it and fail it.

Hi ya, hope you're keeping well, yes making a blank for the pipe & keeping the original bits in place is the way to go as @Stanleysteamer says it can't be seen with the eng. cover in place having said that on my FL1 I have removed the egr & replaced it with a delete I was given but luckily I've kept the original bits so before I get it back on the road & take it for mot I think I'll refit the egr just in case, all the best.
