Any tips failed emissions on my disco 2 I've done the cetaclean with quater of a tank ragged it's arse off for 45mins I'm wondering if that's enough time for the cetaclean to work it's had a full service oil filters fresh oils the lot what can I do it's got an egr delete and a towing remap on it 😔 emission numbers plate value 1.8 it hit 3.8

Just joined no idea if this will help or what engine is in a disco !
I know how strange this sounds but read on and giggle.
Met a fellow whilst filling up my last car ( Saab convertible TID ) at a bp station who was putting an additive into his tank. When I asked him what it was as I’d tried most of Halfords best he advised he was an engineer working at a tech college. He’d researched all the products on the market and found this one to be the best.

He was putting it into a BMW 320d. He said you put in one millilitre for each litre of diesel and it completely cleans the engine, DPF/ CAT, turbo, injectors the works.

I’m literally just about to ask the zone if anyone has used this product on a Land Rover?

It’s called Archoil available on Amazon.
Supplied by “ power enhancer “ I know I laughed too.

May be worth a look at it the reviews I’ve read seem pretty good though nothing on landies

Yea I know what you mean I've put cetaclean in very expensive stuff either it's not gone through the system yet or it's a load of crap 🤣

I guessing you can’t run it in the road so you’re stuck with old school, stick on the accelerator pedal. Take care

Is it Eu2 or Eu3 engine? ... anyway, it depends very much who did it and what kind of "towing remap" you've got. If it's on injector duration maps not on AFR it will smoke more or less under load depending on the other tunings for boost too, larger intercooler and straight through exhaust would reduce the EGT hence the smoke too.

did you clean the MAP sensor after the EGR was bypassed?

Are you a spammer by any chance?

Thanks but no, just a guy who’s got a freelander and thinking of using Archoil in it as it has a BMW engine. New to the site.

Not sure if its eu2 or 3 engine can't remember if I cleaned the map sensor it was 2 years ago it was alive tuning map, normal exhaust and intercooler but its already passed mot last year but this year now its faild twice on emissions don't know the reading of the 1st emissions test do you think I should start with cleaning the map sensor cheers

Find out what engine you have and we'll speak then cos if it's Eu3 it can be a duff MAF, if it's Eu2 something else... dont you feel any regress in power since it passed MOT last time?
No nothing the power is spot on nice and smooth everything, how will find out what enginge it is pal

02 can be either Eu2 or 3 cos it was the tranzition year so check the airbox sensor but as long as you dont feel any difference in driveability and you dont have a nanocom or similar to watch some live data or at least an EGT gauge i cant help much cos i dont like guessing games.

It had 4 wires on the airbox sensor mate

Was it failing by much?
Not sure, but it had disintegrated, had to go to a bit more strict place as they were the only place I could get repairs done in time.

Did not spot deEGR

Been ill since December so DIY repairs are hard work. (still no real idea what it is)
