Heater help! 1979 Range Rover

The heater fan has stopped, not the best at this time of year! The circuit diagram shows a fuse specifically between switch and motor does anyone know where this fuse lives? I guess it is an inline type as it is not in the fusebox! I don't really want to strip the dash plastics as they are all old and wobbly so a pain to deal with. If the fuse can be accessed without that would be a good start!

I've got the heater box for my 1971 in the garage. I don't recall a fuse between the switch and the motor when I stripped it down. The slider switches are simple mechanical and the motor on a circular fan. I can take a pic if you like

By '79 the cars were being built by LR (as opposed to Rover) so a fuse may have been specified on the OP's model year. There were several changes made to the heating system over the years, some of them overly complicated to achieve the same result. KISS is not a term familiar to LR, or indeed any manuf.

Does it specifically say it is a fuse or is it an assumption?

There is a resistor between switch and fan.....and if this goes bounce, you lose speed control....but shouls still work on full chat until it really decides to go south.

The wiring diagram definitely shows a fuse between the ignition switch feed and the motor, the internal switch in the heater unit is not shown. Looks like rip out the plastics time
