Hi all, I'm very new to land rovers and have recently brought myself a 1988 90. I have been doing some light green laning in my local area but now want to start doing a lot more stuff, maybe some pay and play days. The question I'm getting to is this ...
Can i fit 285/75/ R16 mud terrain tyres on modular wheels onto my 90 with its standard suspension? Or will I have problems with rubbing? I have spoken to some people already and they seem to think that they will fit with out any other modifications, ie wheel spacers and a lift kit? Some people have told me I will need to trim the arches and adjust my lock stops? I really just want some good advice on what I can fit to my 90. Hopefully someone's already tried it? Is there a massive noticeable difference in 265/75 R16 compared to the 285/75 R16.
Thanks for the help :)

The general rule of thumb is, if you put on large tyres you need a suspension lift. Also if your using it offroading then a lift is also a good idea. I've done both to my Td5 and it performs and looks awesome. So I would go for 285's:hysterically_laughi

Do a search mate, there's loads of stuff on here on this sort of question;)

anyone know what size wheels and tyres I can fit on my perambulator?

If you get negative offset rims you won't have a problem with the tyres rubbing, but as said above you might need a cardon prop etc etc Also negative offset wheels will probably mean you will need wider wheel arches, depending on your choice of wheels :)

Are the malatesta kaimens road legal, going to get some in 265 / 75 R16, will these be okay? I'm not getting a lift know. Thanks

say hello in the intro section

then you will get more abuse and advise

dont ask me tho

265 are the max factory fit tyres if you go any bigger your rolling resistance and overall performance (not that perfomance is ferrari like ) will dramaticly drop off i use the 265 and they are more than up to what i do
