Really not that much in it for me. My old 200 seemed to have the power lower in the revs compared to the 300 i've got now, dont know if that'll change after i've done the EGR removal and de-cat thats sat waiting to go on. Aside from that its a coin toss.

Wrong, the largest socket on the Lazer 4 piece set is perfect. Did mine last week;)
-
Crap garage if they cant even do that! Forget the old socket trick cause ya'll need one for each wheel. lazer 4 piece removal set works well for me, got it off amaon for less than £20 i think. The smaller ones work well on rounded off bolts. Just remember to get some replacement nuts first :D
-
Doubt they will, got mine for a couple of quid off ebay;)
-
Ha, i'm sure there is. There's a strange satisfaction ya get when ya do it for yaself the first time.
-
Well i'm bored ****less cause i aint at work, usually halfway through my deliveries by now.
Swap ya.

I work on the principle of distrust every garage, i've known plenty of mechanics in plenty of garages round 'ere and wouldn't trust one of em to do a proper service and thats including main dealers.
Might be worth ya while getting a haynes manual and giving it a read through, ya 'll learn a lot...

Thing is it aint just ya engine and gearbox that needs checking., Its ya axles, transfer box ans swivel joints aswell. If they haven't been checked for years they could be bone dry! If i were you i'd stick a post up on here asking for some friedly feller near by to come and gi it a good going...
-
Are you on a wind up 'ere?
Paying them for gearbox oil and them actually checking it is another matter!
-
Ya only check the oil once a year:eek:
Well thats still better than my ex!
-
Prob worth doing as storm99 says first and sticking a pic up to make sure it is a 200 first. As for engine number i aint a clue, never checked mine:o
-
No ya'll still have to tell em.
-
Tell em it's just been changed, depending on who ya insured wi it might cost ya more.
Also probably worth checking the engine number on ya V5 matches that on ya engine incase the person who changed it didn't. If not there's a form as part of the V5 to send to DVLA to notify them of the change.

Because going slow or not ya risking breaking something, or at the very least increasing wear. Why risk it when there's ways of telling risk free?
