    Tdi300 Diesel Injectors

I have a Discovery 300 Tdi engine from 1994 powering my Defender 110. Question is - how often should you check the injectors or should you rebuild/renew after a certain mileage ? I am aware that even a worn injector will ensure the engine will continue to run.... Can you just replace the...

Double Cardon Front Propshaft / Transmission Problem

Reviving the post from 2010. I fitted a double cardan propshaft to the front of my 110 and this resolved the issues - but now I have to replace a universal joint. Problem is the dual cardan propshaft is not standard - it was bought originally from the Land Rover Orphanage but they are now...

    Injection Pump loud noise Tdi300

Well - it was not the vaccum pump. It was the fuel injector pump which was dodgy. I replaced it with a rebuilt unit and the noise stopped and the damn car actually goes faster... Still have not figured out why the old injector pump made that tapped noise......

    Injection Pump loud noise Tdi300

I have a Tdi 300 installed in my 110. About one year ago there was a loud clicking noise from the injector pump but the car drove normally. After 4 weeks the noise disappeared. It would re-appear occaisonally for a couple of days and then fade away. Last week the noise came back with a...

    Tdi 300 Oil Pressure Gauge

Checked the oil this morning and found that the Tdi 300 dip stick reading was pretty low....the indicator light on the dashboard never did light up! So I would like to fit an oil pressure gauge. Can anyone recommend which aftermarket oil gauge to fit? or should I go for an Land Rover item?

Double Cardon Front Propshaft / Transmission Problem

I dont think the UJ were knackered - I have put a new Tdi300 front propshaft but the problem remained. I have removed the front propshaft and the car is running well - albeit in rear wheel drive only.... don't the new defenders and discovery's have the double cardon propshaft in the front?

Double Cardon Front Propshaft / Transmission Problem

I fitted a Britpart 2inch lift kit with the adjusted radius arms etc...and then found that over 40mph there was a noticable vibration coming from transmission.... what actually happened is that due to the 2 inch lift the standard front propshaft angle to the axle is too acute and causes bad...

    Steering Problems with lifted suspension

Ok - the problem was related to the gas shock I used for the steering. It has so much pressure that it afffected the steering. I replaced it with a oil shock and the steering propblem resolved itself. Seems that you have to be careful what kind of shock absorber you fit to the steering system....
