Checked the oil this morning and found that the Tdi 300 dip stick reading was pretty low....the indicator light on the dashboard never did light up!

So I would like to fit an oil pressure gauge. Can anyone recommend which aftermarket oil gauge to fit? or should I go for an Land Rover item?

When you say low, how low?

The light will only come on (in my experience) when the oil is way off the dipstick and pressure is lost.

If you want a pressure gauge fit a VDO unit, I think 5 bar is enough for a tdi. You will need a sender unit too and I think a T piece. Dont ask for part numbers, its an absolute mindfield! Will take alot of working out, or a lot of £££ and go through Croytec.

It will only drop pressure when it no longer picks up oil - then the light would come on.

Also the oil level is designed to take into account steep hills, so most road driving you might find it would be ok..
