Planned Defender project to export to USA

Try find an original LHD to bring in, but I think in the government paper work hidden away in some obscure section it states that you can convert it to LHD if it was originally RHD for safety reasons. But as stated it must be considered a classic car to bring in, 25 years or older, so it does...

    Iv ruined my landrover

If u heat the flange it will expand the metal and be even harder to take off. Next time cool it and contract the steel and it should give enough wiggle room to take it off.

    Espar Heater Question

Well the airtronic cab heater is great! You can feel the heat coming in about 3-4 min and it keeps it warm in some cold conditions, its 14 Degrees F in Chicago and I was in a long sleeve shirt and jeans driving around comfortably, actually had to turn it down a bit. As for the Hydronic I just...

    Espar Heater Question

As for an update... I got it all in except for plumbing the new coolant lines in and T'ing off the existing ones. Also, have a dual battery setup which I have been working on in combination with some new storage boxes in the rear load space. That is work in progress and got a lot to finish...

    Espar Heater Question

Hi all, I've been searching around on here and the internet and trying to find something definitive that states that an espar hydronic 5 coolant heater can be mounted on its side. I've seen some pictures of them mounted sideways but have not read anything official from Espar which states it...

    defender 90 vibration under load

Is the vibration coming through the steering wheel or physically through the car. I had steering wobble and it was the joint off of the pitman arm... I replaced the pitman arm with the earl disco I type and got a new draglink and all has been fine since.

    Brakes feel odd

Hi all, Quick question on the brakes. Today I fitted new rear calipers and did the two man bleeding until no air was coming out of the calipers (I did not bleed the front, didn't think i needed to) All was good, saw no leaks after pumping the pedal a number of times so I set off to test them...

    Quick Starter Motor Question

All done, not as bad as I had heard it was. We got an 84 and kept it all original and put in the 300tdi over in the UK, bought it through liveridge, and shipped it to the states. Illinois is one of the better states to bring it into because they diesels don't need emissions. We called up...
