I filled the ird with oil as the plug was just laid in the tray underneath...... Started the engine which is gone & moved about 20 yards & still the same maybe a touch better. Is it still worth taking the prop & VCU off, what will this tell me?? Thanks for the input

They did change the wheels from 15” to 17” would this have made a difference & front & back tyres were slightly different sizes. Would these two factors have caused the top up plug to vibrate free? Do I need to replace ird & wheels? Thanks

Sorry Td4........ bloody insurance companies!!! With it been 110bhp I wondered wether people just go for the extra power, I don’t know what’s possible 150bhp say..... Or people go with 130bhp & save fuel along the way Won’t bother with throwing all the ballast overboard Thanks so far

Excellent ty hd3 :)...... & so it continues fuel tank pump sender changed it’s improved the power but still losing Power at 3000 rpm although it isn’t every time now???????

Would anyone recommend if I have the 51 Reg with 2 fuel pumps, if possible removing both & putting the upgraded single one in the engine bay??? Is this feasible or best to stick with the two?

HD3. Are you saying the one under the bonnet is high pressure & the one in the tank is low pressure. The one in the tank is considerably cheaper so is it that one or am I best off starting with that one? Thanks

Changed turbo breather filter on mine & fuel filter, looking at the fuel pump next. Soon as I hit 70 or earlier going up hill Power vanishes & slow down. If I turn engine off & restart fine until 70 again. First Freelander even though an old 51 plate, loved it but slowly this is killing the dream
