I know its a 2.5 td but in the questions on the listing two people asked if it was a tdi or the older 2.5 and the seller said it was just a 2.5 td. Didnt realise that the disco engine was more powerfull. How much more hp does it have ? And how is achieved ? Just a matter of winding the pump in ?

Should have put that its a diesel. I meant the cam and flywheel locking tools. I have found these FRANKLIN TA412 DIESEL ENGINE TIMING SET - BMW M51 on eBay (end time 08-Sep-09 12:19:40 BST)on ebay. Not sure if it is the corrrect kit though.

Well it wasn't the fuel its the head gasket. I thought it was fuel because the smoke coming out of the exhaust smelt very funny, like it was running on heating oil !! When I bypassed the filter and it ran OK was because the engine had been stood for a while and the pressure in the in the cooling...

Did think bout drilling a half inch hole in the bottom of the tank !!!

Evening all. The other half filled up with diesel yesterday at tesco !!!! She definitely put diesel in and it is now running like a bag of **** ! I have bypassed the filter and put different fuel in and it runs fine. What i need is a quick way to get the remaining fuel out of the tank quickly...

Hi Irishrover. You should find the connectors behind the rh wheel arch. Thats where they were on mine.

Hi all. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of rave from that will run on windows vista ? I have tried downloading from the green oval site a couple of times but it will never run !! Used to have it on my old pc that was running windows xp but no longer have that pc. Thanks in advance. Luke

The easiest way I found to refit the aluminium ring is to heat it up on a cooker hob so that it expands then just drops back onto the top of the piston. Use a pair of pliers to pick up the ring obviously when hot !!!!!

Hi. An engine from a vauxhall omega is your best bet. They are a lot cheaper to buy than either a range rover or BMW engine. Search on ebay for an omega diesel is your best bet. That is where I got one from for £300. You have to swap a few parts over but nothing to difficult.
