As an addition, the garage is saying that they have tried pressure bleeding from both ends but it seems air is getting into the system from somewhere but there are no leaks…
Thanks both, I did wonder whether the master cylinder could be from a faulty batch - it came off eBay but from a 4x4/ Landy parts supplier. Garage has still not resolved it and they have now had it 2 weeks and still seem no closer to havering any idea what the problem is….
Hi
Back in December driving back from Scotland in my 2007 Puma 110 my brake pedal went very spongy meaning I had to pump the pedal to stop. I googled the symptoms and concluded I needed a new master cylinder. I bought a TRW part and I asked my local mechanic to fit it. He fitted the cylinder...
Many thanks. Having had another look at the pipe it seems to slide in and out of the push connector with ease, I have now pushed it in as far toward the bag but I can but I couldn't get it in as far as the existing collar (on the other side the pipe is pushed right into this) and it is still...
Hi
After not having had a Disco for 5 yrs (previous was a '95 TDI 300 overland prepped which I loved (I had a '95 110 Defender in the interim)) I have just bought a 2003 D2 (as I eventually got fed up with not being able to hear the kids in the back over 60mph, - though a blessing at times...
Thanks for your prompt responses. I am about to set of on my hols in it so don't have too much time to sort - my thoughts are to syringe/ suck out approx. 1/2 a pint (as I understand each side takes 1 pint) via the filler plug?
Hi
I have inadvertently filled the swivel joints on my 96' Defender 300TDI up with EP90 to the underside of the 'fill plug' rather than the 'level plugs' (which it turns out are seized with the heaxaganol bolt heads so burred/ worn I am unable to get them out).
Is this a cause for concern i.e...
Oztents are brilliant (see attached photo), but beware they are big and bulky to carry, I have the smallest one (which is 1.5m long when folded up and I have had to carry it on a roof rack both with my previous Disco and current 110).
I have made a bed base of 18mm ply (which I now realise is probably a bit over the top in terms of thickness) in the back of my 110 county and as each panel weighs a ton I am looking to drill a number of 57mm dia holes in each board (bed is made up of 4 sections as follows: 3 no. 400mm x 900mm...
Have just bought a chequer plate panel for the bonnet of my '96 110 Defender as I need access to a roof box on my roof rack and want to stand on the bonnet.
I thought I had bought 3mm plate but it turns out I got muddled up re: overall thickness (3.2mm) and plate thickness which is approx 2mm...
Thanks for all your help/ comments. After a bit of trial and error it seems the main terminals on the solenoid were back to front (compared to what the instructions indicated).
In terms of wiring it correctly I have checked and double checked unless I have got the solenoid the wrong way up? - I didn't look to see if the terminals were numbered (I have now checked and they are not) I just looked at the picture in the instructions and went from there....
Would it do...
I am trying to fit the above to my 1995 Defender 110 but having wired it up as per the following:
