Hi folks,
I am after a bit of advice, I was considering selling my lovely 90 to buy a vw van to convert to a camper, (kids grown up, spare weekends etc) anyway after a bit of a look around I am toying with the idea of putting a bed in the 90 (over the bulkhead) but with the lack of room was wanting a tent that I could back up to for the living area and cooking. Does anyone know where I could this time of thing.
Thanks.
Also if anyone has done this conversion and has a few top tips they would be gratefully recieved.

Sorry a bit of a typo above!!!! Could anyone tell me where I could find this type of tent?
Illiterate bugger!!!!!!

Yes, that's the type of thing. Just got to find a second hand one now.!!!! Thanks.
Gonna sleep in the landy so a bit of imagination and joinery skills. !!

I am considering a similar thing with my 3 door commercial Disco, but I am concerned about the keeping warm as I still have all my windows.

Is your 90 a hard top or station wagon?

What do you plan for insulation or is this just the odd time here and there where getting away is more important than being comfortable?

Buy a decent sleeping bag. "There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear"

I use my Disco and it's a helluva lot warmer than the tent .. especially when it's windy!

Have a look what I did to make it .. It's only a little different to that original thread, but still works well and the biggest benefit is that it keeps the offroad gear properly stowed so it won't fly into my crust in the event of a small catastrophe .. not that I've tried, or intend, having one!! ;)

All I did to make it more comfortable was blue tacced dark paper to the windows, the wifes making hang-on-somewhere curtains for it!

Bed in a Disco

Oztents are brilliant (see attached photo), but beware they are big and bulky to carry, I have the smallest one (which is 1.5m long when folded up and I have had to carry it on a roof rack both with my previous Disco and current 110).

I used my 90 as a camper for a while and it was great, the only issue was space to get in and out of it.
