    V8 non starter....

Has anyone ever had a Landrover V8/TVR V8 car where there is no 12v power feed to the Fuel pump relay? I cannot start the TVR V8. I've checked everything (bar taking the Ign key assembly apart). I have power to the main relay - starter motor turns. The Fuel pump does not "chatter" like it...

    High pitched whine, whining noise

A simple question... Have you checked the belt tension. Maybe the belt is simply slipping. Louis

    Alternator whine, help please.

The alternator typically whines on the V8. I don't know if you have a V8 or TD5. The bearings can be replaced - not a simple job - though relatively unconplicated if you are OK with spanners and screwdrivers, Be sure to keep dirty fingers off the slip rings though. You may simply leave...

    Seized door locks?

My first Disco had the same problem. I checked the car/repair history. One of the previous owners had changed the Ign and Petrol cap - I suppose the ignition lock was faulty and he had it replaced - replacing the petrol filler at the same time. I know I have had problems with Disco ignitions...

    Urgent Plea Discovery Wont Start

As James says your battery could be "flat". Do the headlights work? Turn them on and try starting the engine. Do they dim? The cliock could be that all is OK with the starting relays - maybe the starter motor is jammed/faulty! Keep your responses coming. L

    Freelander TD4 bottom engine tray.....

I've just completed my firts service on my 54 reg freelander. The bottom tray (underneath the engine, sump etc) is a bit of a pig to remove/replece to say the least. I modified mine so I now have a hinged flap in the tray at the Sump nut... this means I can now do the next service without...

    Back Window Problem

Your call to landrover beat me to it. I haven't logged in for a few days.. Relativeley easy to fit. You simply need to remove the inner rear door trim and locate the unit. Take care with the wiring plugs etc. They can stick at times. Let us know how you get on. Louis

Alloywheels don't fit - well the do. BUT

I have come across 2 sizes of nuts - both for alloys on the disco. I have the larger PCD hubs and dependant on the alloy there are 2 different styles of wheel nuts. Try performancewheels.co.uk They are extremely helpful. Rgds Louis

    Disco Wont Bloody Start!

Hi, A few points. Generally if the immobilisor is armed your starter will NOT turn. The starter will also not turn if the fuse or starter relay is faulty. You state that you can hear a number of relays clicking. Do you normally hear these on start up (before your problem)? It...

    v8 is 'Tappety'

Hi, Sound a bit simple but...how old is the oil in the engine? Is it Black or clean? Do you know when the last oil change was. If you decide to change the oil I would advise you also ensure you use a cleaning agent inthe oilways. Ensure if you do that it is totally removed beforer...

    waxoyl

Hi. I have used both brush and spray (using a compressor and gun). I give the can a good shake up before use and spray on a warm/hot day. Be careful if spraying - not to spray the discs - you will then need to change the disc pads. Let us know how you get on. I have just sprayed the...

    Urgent Plea Discovery Wont Start

Hi, You do not give me much to go on but....When you turn on the ignition can you hear the petrol pump whirring? Do you get a "click" after about 20 - 30 seconds? (this should be the pump relay switching off as the fuel line is pressurised.) The click is similar to that on old diesal...
