Hi I own a 1996(n) 3.9 V8i Discovery and yesterday i fitted the rear light clusters that are just red and white (300tdi i think) my problem is now my car wont start! coincidence? when i turn the ignition key all the dash lights light up but when i turn it that final click - nothing, the lights dont even dim, the batteries fine, i can hear various relays clicking but the car wont start, theres even a clicking noise coming from behind the drivers side rear light that i fitted. HELP!!! i was wondering if the back lights could have anything to do with it? - i also wired up the passenger side bumper sidelight- or could it be the immobilisor? Lee

Hi,

A few points.

Generally if the immobilisor is armed your starter will NOT turn.

The starter will also not turn if the fuse or starter relay is faulty.

You state that you can hear a number of relays clicking. Do you normally hear these on start up (before your problem)? It sounds like a bad connection somewhere - possible an earth connection. Have you disturbed any wiring anywhere?

You may want to review your wiring (the rear lights that you changed to ensure you have not crossed over some of the wiring or was it simply a brake light cluster replacement?
