From your post it sounds like you were manualy pumping the lift pump hoping to pump fuel to the injectors? Fuel will not actually pass through the injector pump unless you are cranking the engine as the injector pump needs to be turning to deliver fuel to each port.

You'll want to T into the pipes to your existing heater rather than the main radiator pipes.

Certainly within the EU you are only "supposed" to have fuel in fixed tanks that form part of the vehicle when you cross borders.

I too would suspect the fuel pressure sensor connection. On my works freelander I cleaned the connection which worked for a while then the problem came back much worse. Changed the plug and its been fine since.

Unfortunatly this is now a restricted byway following the nerc act. You can't drive any further than the car park at the top. The restricted byway sign isn't immediatly visable as its located towards the far right corner of the car park rather than logically being placed over to the left. Shame...
