Assuming both engines had roughly the same mpg should give an equal flow rate though either filter so shouldn't be a prob

Finally found what it after a fair few searches!
good enough to see what goes where..
-
Ah cheers Ian!
i'll give that a go at the weekend so and see how it goes!

Anyone even got a pic of their standard or disco 200tdi fuel pump handy?
Might be enough to get me started, thanks

Hey, i recently got a 200tdi to replace my 2.5 petrol in my 90. its a disco 200tdi which the last owner had in his '86 110, he decided to replace all running gear and engine to 300tdi spec hence he sold me the 200tdi so it has most of the pipes extended and the modified exhaust and all done...
-
they're a different pcd i think!
-
gettin to the fiddly bits of the 200tdi conversion
my 2.5 petrols pas pump bolt doesn't fit the 200tdi's
anybody know the part number of the disco 200tdi one?
might be handier to buy new than go to scrappy if its cheapish!
200tdi pas pump on right in photo.
oh and don't have the donor...

Defender 90 - All 200 300tdi Metal Fuel Tank - Part No ESR2242

check part no. first tho just to be sure!

the fact that you can identify the leak prob means you know enough to do it yourself with the aid of a manual.
might find some help here.. Land Rover Manuals, Part Catalogue, workshop manual, download pdf files, Landroverweb.com Linking your Landy to the World!

Or try sitting the sump in an old tyre, thats how i moved my 200tdi. then I tied across top to ensure it didnt fall over
-
is exhaust interfering with the body? a change in rpm will cause a change in frequency of vibration of anything with a bit of play in it!
are engine mounts ok? (not cracked loose etc..)
does the clutch slip or give any funny noises?
have you checked to see if its a cracked brake disc etc..

for me i removed the drivers side rubber mount completely, then jacked up gearbox slightly and slid engine in, tightened up bell housing then used hoist to lift drivers side mount as much as possible and insert rubber
this was so easy i even decided to leave one of the little pivoting things...
