I had that very idea so I emailed said dealer and asked if they'd have any objections to me get the RAC to do an inspection? The response from them up to this point had been very prompt, since I asked this question which was two days ago I've heard nothing! So I'm guessing there best avoided!

No need to apologise col I guessed what had happened! And this is exactly why I'm worried about buying from a dealer VDB, it's a lot of money that is very hard to come by! I hate walking through the new vehicle mine field!

I'm in tune with you on that one! That's why I'm trying to do as much digging on these guys as possible to try to avoid walking into a heap of trouble, I'd rather buy privately but I've been looking for many months now and I'm having to broaden my search, thanks for the advice Col.

I think I'll give the tdci a miss I've spoken to a independent Land Rover specialist and he has given a list of reasons not to get one, in his opinion and I know this guy has many years experience with Land Rover's the 200tdi 300tdi and td5 are much better.

I've been looking at poly bushes for my 98 Defender, but they seem to vary massively in price and there are quite a few different manufacturers out there. Can anyone give me any feedback on which ones to either go for or avoid? Is it worth going poly bush at all?
