    L322

A few pics of mine, slowly turning into what it was designed for... playing in mud..... In an armchair.....

    Coolant loss culprit....

I'd get rid of those plastic "T"s as well, they go brittle and snap when a few years old... replace them with some nice brass ones from here... Water Hoses and Fittings And I always use proper branded Jubilee clips as they are far superior to most of the cheap Chinese stuff out there....

L322 Replacement rear light lens cover

And you can't change just the cover, you have to buy the whole unit... and they aren't cheap, even second hand....

    Fault code reader

I've got a cheap generic one and it will read codes but not clear them... had a look around and at the time thought the IID tool from Gap was the best value for what it did, but there are several out there

    failsafe messsge.

It's the battery causing those problems, if it's not tip top then the tranny box doesn't like it, mine throws a low voltage code if I work on the car with the doors open and lights on for too long... check battery and alternator, should get around 14.4volts with everything on...

Do the L322 have as many common probs as the p38

About as fast as a petrol and 30mpg.... but it was very front heavy, you could really feel it. The torque convertor wasn't matched to the engine very well so it changed gear far too early.... Made a nice sound though.... A mildly tuned TD5 would be a much better car....

location of starter motor relay please

It's a long time since I've had a Classic, I could be wrong, you should be able to see how many wires there are in the loom... I remember one to the starter and one to the solenoid but it could vary throughout the years...

location of starter motor relay please

There are two small wires that go to the starter and these break easily, may be worth checking. Standing at the front look into the engine bay, the starter relay should be on the left of the windscreen washer bottle from what I remember...

Do the L322 have as many common probs as the p38

Tried it on 19's with MTR's but the sidewall is so low I pinched three of them in the Lake district, three damaged sidewalls... Rides much nicer on the 32's and the GG's seem to be a good tyre

    Soft dash restoration

Dunkan, just read all 16 pages, lovely job mate, going to be a stunner when done, those EAS sensor rods look just like the early L322 rear ones!!! can't tell if they are the same length but they look exactly the same, maybe worth trying one of them....

Do the L322 have as many common probs as the p38

Have to agree with Dolphinboy... I have had stacks of Land Rovers, from early classics, LSE, softdash, Discoveries from early petrols, a 6.5gmcV8 Diesel to later ones, but I'd never even think of buying a P38, had several mates with them and they seem to spend longer in the garage than on the...

    Won't crank when hot.....

Not with my truck it ain't... Yeah I was hoping it was the switch.... Dippypud... Immobiliser is working fine, you can tell this as it has an electric steering column lock and you can hear it unlock if the immobiliser is working... I'm favoring the Ignition interlock relay...

Newbie, and no questions in this post!!

Hi... After being suitably chastised by West Slope Rover for failing to follow proper etiquette I am here to beg your humble forgiveness, I did actually think I had introduced myself some time ago, I mean I've only been a member since 2011...!?!???!!!!! Names Pete had loads of Landies over the...

    Won't crank when hot.....

I throw myself prostate at your feet and beg for forgiveness and understanding, I have only been a member since Feb 2011, some 3 1/2 years, but I do own a Range Rover so you can understand that I have spent most of this time stuck under, in or around the said truck to pamper and cajole it to...
