Hi guys,
I'm thinking of fitting an asa lift kit to my 06 freelander, is this a do it yourself job? Does alignment need anything done? And has anyone had trouble from insurance for doing it?
Also got some 15" steel wheels, was going to go for Hankook Rf10 At tyres, anyone got any...
-
You might just be overfilling it, i had that problem when i first got mine! Only fill to 1 click on pump!
-
They look awesome
Pity theyre all tubular space frame and grp body panels and only share looks with ours... Would need a lot of work to even start making it look like that!
But if i win the lottery... I'm getting one... Or two!

Hi, i'm fairly new too... Had my freebie for a while tho!
-
That sounds quite cool! I always think a bowler wilcat inspired build would look good, with chequer plate replacing the hard top and 2 spare wheels mounted in it! Big lift and big mud tyres!
Maybe in the future!

What was in the caravan? A tonne of lead by the looks of it!
-
Ok, thats good, had wondered about covering lower vents in grille (not in front of radiator obviously) to stop some of it getting in!
But if not needed then i won't! :)

It only squeals for a second or 2, then its fine... With amount of rain been having everywhere seems to be on verge of flooding...
Is there any good ways to waterproof engine? Not a snorkel but just make it a bit more waterproof? As i said the puddles were not 400mm deep so within its limits

Cheers guys
That makes sense, i'm at 92,000 so is probably due a new one.
Its due a service now anyway, i'll get it done at same time.

Hi guys,
A quick question, after driving through some fairly sizeable puddles one of my drive belts squeals and slips for 2-5 seconds and power feels down (lights dim a bit and struggles to accelerate)... Now i'm guessing its the alternator belt? As i thought they had timing chains...
Does...

Ok, let me know when it is and I'll check my shift pattern! Where is violets lane? My freebie is a diesel but they are not to great at wading!
-
Hi Darren
Yeah I might be up for that depending when i'm working! I also need to get some AT tyres as I'm still on road based ones! Any other freelanders going?
Cheers
Ben

I need advice on tyres, the steelies originally had 195/80/15s on, do i go for that size AT tyre or would it be better putting different size tyre on to get better height and contact patch?
