    Inhibitor Switch Checks

Thanks James. The switch was removed from the car before the checks were made. But thinking about it there must be 2 different off/on situations. The switch has only 2 positions, depressed or non depressed. If both solenoid and reversing lights can be activated at the same time then it would...

    Inhibitor Switch Checks

Disco 1 1995 V8i Automatic Can anyone tell me if my start inhibitor switch is really knackered or not? The car will start in any gear not just “P” and “N” so something is wrong The reversing lights don’t work either but I can’t be sure yet that the switch is the cause of this. A continuity...

    Sticking Diff Lock

Thanks everyone I previously had only WD40 but have just been out and got a can of GT85. I'll give every thing a good skoosh and try out the methods described. From the 2nd video it is now apparent that the push rod should be sliding within the collet without the collet itself moving...

    Sticking Diff Lock

Disco 1 1995 V8i Automatic I have been searching the posts and my problem seems to be fairly common but I can’t get the information that I am after. The transfer lever was stuck (I suspect through lack of use) but I have exposed it from inside the car and managed to get the High-Low ratio...

Will a 5dr drivers seat fit on a 3dr drivers subframe?

It might fit but I think you could fail the MOT because of it Doesn't the 3 door seat slide forward and hinge to allow access to rear seats? The 5 door seat only has slide and rake adjustment

It is not possible to bleed the clutch

I found when bleeding a Ford Fiesta some years back with an Eezi Bleeder I got better results if i idled the engine when bleeding. I dont know if it will work on a Disco but was planning on trying it after I have installed new brake calipers on my Disco 1

    Front wheel bearing replacement.

Many Thanks for the input guys. Sorry for the delay in responding but work had to take priority I managed to get the nuts off with a set of water pump pliers but one really was quite tight. I will get a proper socket to do it back up properly. On torquing back up my manual says 13. Fit hub...

    Front wheel bearing replacement.

I'm doing a similar job on my V8 but I'm having trouble with the inner nut. Nothing I have fits and I am a wee bit concerned about getting it torqued back up correctly. Can anyone advise the correct sized socket. It measures 36-37mm across the flats GDM - I've recently been ordering parts...

Rear Lights - Reversing Lights in Particular and Mystery Lamp

It was linked back to supplemetary reversing lights and reversing camera. No apparent connection between it and the lamp in question but the set up didn't work anyway so who knows? Since I started looking in around the back of the dash - see my post re aerials - I have discovered a lot of...
