Will a 5dr drivers seat fit on a 3dr drivers subframe?

Hey everyone.

So the drivers seat in my 3dr disco is nakered, it's collapsed at the back so it drops right down where your ass sits and it won't extend right forward, so at present my dad can't drive it as he is a bit shorter than me and its bloody uncomfortable.

Does anyone know if the seat from 5dr and 3dr Disco 1 is exchangeable? I know the subframe on my seat is different as it tilts forward being 3dr, but would a seat from another 5dr disco 1 fit on my frame?

It might fit but I think you could fail the MOT because of it
Doesn't the 3 door seat slide forward and hinge to allow access to rear seats?
The 5 door seat only has slide and rake adjustment

I Don't want to change the whole seat and frame to a 5dr one, it's the frame on the 3dr that tilts/slides the chair forward to enable passengers access to the back. So I am hoping to change just the chair, so if I can separate a chair from a 5dr seat frame will that then fit on my 3dr seat frame.

Just seems to be a lack of 3dr discos about so wanted to see if a 5dr seat, but not the frame will work

Yes it'll work just remember that 300tdi's are wider than 200Tdi's so either get the same or be prepared to source a flat metal plate and drill out a few holes to make the conversion work.

Just found two Disco 1's from 92 and 93 not far from me, 5dr 7 seater.
