I have a rear load cover off my 95 Discovery 1 here for anyone who would like to collect it. I don't want anything for it.
It is light brown, needs a good clean but it works. The plastic capping on one end is broken but that doesn't affect the operation of it, see photo.

Can anybody...

I had the same problem when I got mine. I saw a relatively bad hole there and poked around and found a bigger hole:(.
I had both sides done by a local mobile welder for £150 which I thought was a good price so £80 is a bargain by my reckoning.

The unit is only live when the ignition is on. Check the wiring from the switch forward, you may have a short.

For what it's worth.
Haven't we been through this before?

See if you can find a driver's door lock and key at a scrappy. If you're not bothered about having two keys that would fix it.

Sidewaysste and TheBigLad: How dare you suggest I could be so stupid. I've owned a number of landies, I'd never do that!!!!
And if I find the idiot who didn't put the lever back properly there will be serious trouble.:o:o:o:o:o.
