Hi guys - anyone experienced their hill descent control and traction control light coming on randomly? I'm not sure if it's just the lights or the actual system coming on - but it's a bit disconcerting when they come on, but then they seem to go off again after a few minutes.
Anybody know why?

Before you ask, I'm not pulling the yellow trigger (-;

Ah I did search for hdc and got no results in the search. But I should've looked further. Silly me - I should've guessed most Freelander faults are common ones!! :)

Cool, thanks Mark, I'll have a look under there this weekend!

Why wait until the weekend. Take a 6 pack out there tonight and have a connection checking party. Will be great :cool:

usually its the brake light switch that causes it, sometimes wheel speed sensors but thats quite rare

if its a 1.8 or V6 make sure the throttle cable has enough slack in it or the abs ecu thinks the throttle is stuck, there is a hall effect switch on the throttle pedal, if the throttle opens before the hall effect switch senses the pedal is down, the amber lights will come on (Td4 doesn't have this as its all controlled by the engine ECU)

if the wires break on the gear lever, the amber lights wont come on, the HDC just wont work (green light wont come on when HDC is switched on)
