Good and bad news.
They are fitted!

Bad news they rub at front. Just did a 63 point turn.

Rear is fine.

How much does it rub mate? Does it rub right throughout the turning circle, lock to lock, or only at certain parts of the lock?

To be fair, a lift kit is less than £200, is it worth cutting the bumper when you will have no doubt spent 2 or 3 times that already doing this?

Unfortunately I don't think a 2" lift kit will fix it as they will probably still rub on rough ground due to suspension travel needing the 2" or more.

Any chance of a front and rear view showing how far beyond the wheel arch they extend outwards at the bottom where the mud-flaps are/were?

I think they may well throw mud and road spray up the sides of the vehicle.

I have 235 section and if I were to fit 30mm spacers I think they would stick a 15mm or so out from the wheel-arches.

They only rub a little bit on the front so its not drastic cutting!

If I cut what I need to now, when its lifted that should cover me for suspension travel. I think if it was lifted then they might not rub, but would under compression of suspension.

Yep just cut little bit of front bumper and all good. Been busy with work and not had time to lift it!

Its coming though!

Have you finished this yet mate? I have 38mm spacers and am in need of new tyres soon. I have a lift kit that is getting modified this weekend, hopefully, well the cuts I made are certainly getting welded this weekend.

How much did you have to cut out?

I want to fit the 235 wide on my freelander but most threads end with no following details.

I found this and wonderd if the op had success. As it's the set up I'm after would be nice to have a definitive answer :-D

I think the 235 is a hit too wide for the standard rims. I have changed my wheels to allow bigger tyre fitment. Although I haven't fitted the bigger tyres to them yet as soon as I do I will he posting results.

235/70/16 fit, looking on the internet, 235/65/17 are smaller than my 225/75/16 so should fit...Will need lift & spacers/modulars though

Ahh ok cool I'm going up two inches and out 30mm each corner so should be ok then? Sweet
