hi landy peeps

have a bit of a problem in as i had to remove the steering wheel the other night in a hurry due to horn sticking on and locals not happy lol

when put the wheel back on i thought had lined it up correctly but is out of line ???

is there a easy way to make sure i get it lined up correctly ???

many thanks for your inpending advice

Drive down a quiet road and stop when the wheels are definitely straight.

Pull wheel off and replace in straight ahead position.

Any more than this and youre getting into wheel alignment/tracking which is a different topic.

I've written paragraphs about it so just search :)

Thanks peeps know tracking ok as was sorted last week just me in my haste and having to remove wheel to stop horn problem lol hope to get sorted asap thanks for all your helpful advise once again

Same prob I changed a drag link end and I don't know whether to pull the wheel or turn the bar or both or just leave it where the **** it is

If the steering wheel is slightly to the right shorten the drag link and to the left increase the length, even a 1/4 to 1/2 of a turn on a ball joint makes a lot of difference to the steering wheel position.

think just resetting the wheel postion is best as know all was ok prevoiusly just out of line due to horn problem

thanks for advise peeps

Of course that's the best and only solution if the steering wheel was re-fitted in the wrong position, I wouldn't suggest anything else.
But if steering wheel is out due to a draglink ball joint change then that's taken care of by a slight re-adjustment of the joint. :)

Thanks Discool I couldn't work that out at all I cant think 3 dimensionaly

How did I find out a slight re-adjustment of the joint is all thats reqired ?

I had the same issue after replacing my n/s drag link ball joint even after taking great care with the measurements, anyway it was easy to alter being new only 10 mins, I did it before going to work.:)

And Devlin THANKS for saying thanks :tea:
