Hi, Guys.
Don't know if anyone has any advice here - just insured a 1999 90 td5 for £370 - it's been modified from a van by putting side windows and seat bases in. This wasn't available on the mods drop down, so I just rang them - an extra £500 - what!!! So now I've no insurance and have to start all over again :-(
My old 84 land that was robbed a few weeks ago, only cost £118 p/a.
Don't know what you guys pay?
Cheers
Andy

ps and another £300 for declaring 30% tinted windows!

Thanks Guys - I'll try nfu. Sureterm did a really good one of £218, but it jumps up to over £700 for the claim 3 weeks ago when someone stole and burnt my old 90. Talk about being penalised!

google Glynwood insurance (I don't have their contact details ) they were the cheapest for my mate with big wheels lifted suspention and a winch.
let us know if they give you a good quote.

Ouch!!!

I know Adrian Flux are pretty good insurance company for modded 4x4s.

I'll second that comment.
I have Been with adrian flux for nearly five years now.
Only been driving for 5 years and I have a 300tdi disco with 2inch lift kit and bigger tyres declared and it's only 350 a year which for me is good I think.

Well, Adrian Flux came back with £473, which is a big step i the right direction - still awaiting nfu to get back to me.
cheers
andy

nfu have also come in with a good price, but stipulate proffesional fitting of the rear seats plus seatbelst.

HI,
I have just joined the Landy world and am am 38 with NO no claims for this reason I was using a works van, so after many many quotes I have managed to get my insurance to £602 thats fully comp with UK national breakdown cover and windscreen protection and personal insurance protection so I think thats reasonable..... the insurance company is Admiral.

I also rang them yesterday and told them about my new sidesteps, A bar with spots and my roof bar with spots oh and a snorkel.... the premium went up by a further £54 so I'm ok with that. One thing they did ask was it all fitted professionally and I said yes as it was done by Land Rover with reciepts etc.

My Landy is a 1999 TD5 Hardtop

Cheers - Jase

mine was £212 in Liverpool with sure term direct. I am 31 no accidents, and its 2.5na thou i did have 6 years no claims but they said they wont use them as its classic car insurance so i dont need them.

Try Nor County 0845 345 4535 Speak with Lorraine; they offer a deal from Highway Insurance that cover all mods on Land Rovers, Engine Upgrades, Bull Bars, Suspension Lifts, Low Annual Mileage Discount, Green Lane Cover etc (Providing You are a Member of a Club) So join GLASS or some other Club and you are away. Be sure to state all mods honestly and you may find that they offer a competitive quote.

Both NFU Mutual and Adrian Flux would not insure my landrover as I wanted an agreed value becuase I have spent so much on it. They both said that it is becoming very difficult now to buy your vehicle back from the insurers if it has been written off. I guess it would depend on the category of write off? I will be going to lancaster

Ouch! Wont be doing that in a hurry! very odd! I would be asking to speak to a manager about that!
