After returning my shocking (No pun intended) grey parabolics and es3000 shocks which were fine but no use without the springs I have got in touch with Rocky mountain and for a set of heavy duty 3 leaf parabolics, es9000 shocks (Not es3000) and a set of extended rear check straps it will only cost £85 more than those horible things that Britpart try to pass off as series 3 suspension, lower range shocks and no check straps! I will let you know how it all goes as I am supposed to take delivery of them tommorow all being well.:D

Ok need a little help now. I want to post some pictures on here but dont know how to do it... can anyone help?

Any way. Picked the full rockey mountain kit up and the quality is fantastic. The diameter of the es9000 shocks is unbelivable (Masive) and the metal welded sleve around it is going to last the test of time better than the rubber booted versions. The spings are all fixed together like the origional landy springs without the bottom leaf being loose with rubber bumpers on either end like the britpart ones I returned (one less bit to catch when off roading). The outside diameter of the spring bushing is much larger than the origional landy bush and the U bolts are 1/2" rather than 5/16". All ads up to an awsome bit of kit. Pictures to follow when some one tells me how to do it. Another very important part of the purchace was the guy who is Rocky Mountain U.K (Martin) who was a genuinly nice bloke who rather than just selling you somthing talks through your requirements to suit you with one of their choices of springs and shocks.

All in all fantastic and highly recomended to anyone who is thinking of replacing their suspension.:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

The kit prices vary a bit cos you can have 2 or 3 leaf rear springs. I went for 3 leaf (more expensive) as I will ocasionaly tow the old caravan on holiday once in a while. I went for the es9000 shocks over the old man emu and it also came with all U bolts, nuts, bottom shock washer with split pin, extended check straps and a rather fetching oval metal badge to mount to the rear end. Cost me a smidg over £360.

Pickys to follow shortly thanks to Mr Grippa

all sounds good man!! i've got the brit-part parabolics with es3000 shocks, i noticed the other day, after readin your threads, that the front sets clash with the chasis where they curl round.... must have been a real bastard of a job getting them on!!

i was going to swap them for a new set of standard springs off one of me more poorly landy's as i really hate the ride from the para's, like driving over a deflating bouncy castle..

.... that was before i found the rocker shaft has come away at one end resulting in some unpleasant bending of metal and a very poorly engine........

Pictures as promised. Sorry they took a while. Shows front shock standard and es9000, front 2 leaf spring, rear 3 leaf spring and a close up of the rear spring bush to show differences in bush. Not pictured but in the kit are the 1/2" U bolts, Nuts and extended check straps.

Just ever so slightly fooked. When I picked up the rear spring I grabed hold of the bottom helper spring and it folded over and snaped off:eek: Lucky this landy hasn't been used on the road in the last seven years. It was left sitting under a tree by its previous owner for all them years and then I said go on then Ill have it. Shouldn't be too big a job just needs a new bulk head bolting to a new chassi and.......

Well spoted. Ive been caling them es 9000's but the boxes stickers and so on say explorer 9000's so I dunno. All I know is that there a lot better protected than the other procomps with rubber gaitors. The metal sleve around em look like they could realy take some stick. All you have to do is call up have a chat to make sure how many leaf rear springs you need pay over the phone and then sit by the door untill they turn up. OOOOOOOH SHINEY BITS!!!

I collected mine from Martin because he's just over 30 miles from me so no postage and I seem to remember it was just over £360. For that I got front 2 leaf (Pre bushed), rear 3 leaf (Pre bushed), 4x es9000 shocks (with bushes) New extended check straps, uprated U bolts which are 1/16" larger diameter (You have to drill the holes out on the axel/shock mounting plate...easy) and all the nuts for the U bolts. Not forgeting a snazzy little Rocky Mountain metal body badge;)
Cant rember how much it was for postage and I dont know if the components have changed in price but I wouldn't expect to pay more than £400 delivered that factors in delivery at £30-£40??? They are based in Grantham (NG31 6) post code just off the A1. Good luck and a smoother ride if you get the Rockys!

Almost forgot, Martin has a well kitted out series 3 on these springs and while I was there he held the guttering on his truck with one hand and swayed it side to side just to show that you will have smooth spring like suspension.

Just found this site TRICK 10 shows the fitting of Rockys to a USA Landy and some pictures of articulation and load carrying
