Can anyone please tell me if the ZF 6HP26X transmission fitted to Range Rovers has a lock up torque converter like it does when fitted to other vehicles? Also can it be remapped?
I've been scouring the interweb trying to find information on it but with not much luck. (Any links to such information would be gratefully appreciated)!!

Not sure why you'd want it re-mapped....do you wish to alter the lock up timing?
Most boxes since 2000 are self learning..it learns your driving style.

What exactly are you trying to achieve?

I'm not trying to achieve anything at the moment. When remapping Audi RS6 fitted with this transmission the trans is usually remapped with it to match gear changes with new power curves and to make it hold gears longer when in sport mode and to make it change down earlier for better engine breaking. Also the lock up clutch on the torque converter is engaged for much more of the time to reduce clutch pack wear etc. I've not noticed TCU remapping for RRs.

Yes, the Range Rover version of the 6HP26 has a LUC. Maybe EVC WinOLS and/or BitSoftware via chiptuningshop.co.uk might be a suitable starting point to investigate remapping?

This is the LUC map for the 5HP24 generated using WinOLS :

Also, Bill & Andrew Henney of BlueReach Automation in Hampshire have certainly done a lot of work on reverse engineering the mechatronic unit software. I don’t know if this is the sort of thing that they get involved in, though.
