OK i have a lovely Disco Td5 es 2001 auto, but feel this draw to a disco 3, dont shoot me down, im not convinced at all by them but I joined the Land Rover Mailing list, got some e-mails from them so I entered a few competions 5 day trip to morrocco, England rugby at six nations, off roading with the england team etc etc.

just had a call offering me a half day off roading, I could choose the car so i picked a Disco 3, i can take two mates as well.

I only posted this for those that want to try a newer Product from LR, RRS, gaylanders are all on offer, if nout else free day out with bickies and tea, you never know ya luck worth joining the e-mail list.

i will keep ya posted on the day out not till end of March.

Now, be kind guys.....

Thanks Aviator, was expecting abuse but its early days yet,

At the end of the day they offered me any make they currently produce, I told them twice i had no intention of buying as I was broke (like the rest of the nation).

It didnt matter it was purely a courtesy offer, so I thought Fooook it.

if you roll up at almost any official LR dealer in a year to 3 year old landy and mention your after a newer model you'd be hard pushed NOT to be offered the standard half day with tea, biscuits and the hard sell session

i know a certain 3 year old disco that has been used at least 6 times (at the same dealer) in order to get the offer :)

Well I went on a lovely spring morning and drove a lovely 08 plate Disco 3 HSE, and guess what ?

It had problems !!

Hand brake fooooked, pad warning lights on as well... BUT !

A fantastic car for the 90/10 Road/off road buyer, I mean like silky performance with go anywhere appeal,

Loads of gizzmo's and stuff you just know will go wrong and cost a second mortgage to put right.

No hint of a sales pitch, just really nice blokes, got 30 mins on road and 45 mins off road each for me and me mate.

Would recommend anyone trying it out, after all its free !

Hmmm looks like I shall be popping along to my local LR dealer in the next 2 weeks to try out this theory.

*rubs hands* :)

I think I got offered it as i filled out there mailing list page on the web site, I was genuinely interested in the Disco 3 as my possible next car, it would have to of been a two or three yr old one at about £12K, I entered the three prize draws as well and within a couple of weeks got the phone call offering the half day out.

Well worth it
