Righty what's the deal with mud and snow tyres marked M+S? I'm thoroughly confused because mytyres have avon rangers M+S marked as a summer tyre. Now.... I don't normally see snow in the summer so I'm a bit confussled. Do these look like a good general purpose tyre that will I can just throw on the car and forget about until I want to do something a bit more specific? I get the impression these aren't the worst brand or price.

Thanks for your patience.

Steering clear of part worns after a bad experience with them, slow punctures and so on. I think I'll just need to take a leap with my choice then let you know how I get on.

go for the insa's best tyre for price etc, although keep looking around for them coz that link is a bit pricey I paid £215 for mine iirc.

Thank you for the review.

ATS seem to be doing a 25% discount on Avons as well which would be 4 tyres for £230 then you need to pay their over the top fitting fees but still around £280 fitted. Just hope their prices match their online prices, I'll phone them tomorrow. They even have the AT tyres for less than the the Ranger TSE ones which have even better scores Test reports for 4x4 tyres AVON - RANGER A-T here's hoping then.

Hmm by the time I pay for them have them delivered get them fitted etc I might be as well throwing the extra few quid at kwik-fit and getting a set of pirelli scorpions £335 fitted, balanced etc

If you want to fit a decent tyre that'll cope with most conditions then go for General Grabber AT2's, they'll set you back roughly £85 per tyre, but they are the dog's nuts ;)

Ok well I bust my budget four General Grabber AT2 fitted balanced and wheels aligned for £395 spent all morning on the phone to get that.

When they couldn't get any lower on the price they thought it was a bit cheeky of me to try and get the wheel alignment thrown in free but I got it just over half price. Oh and the added benefit is I can have them fitted today after 1pm.

Did they have the new AT in ?

No idea, they just said that they fit a lot of these and they are ten times better than the avons I was looking at and last longer too. I'll find out exactly what I get when I get there, I suppose if they fit a lot it might be fairly fresh stock? I'll let you know in a couple of hours.

anyone had any experience with these tyres...?i am running on grabbers at the min but want something a little more aggressive all are 265/75/16s first two are kingpin and the 3rd is recip trial(never heard of them.)prices start at £277 and go up to £349 for 4 tyres?

Right that's me all fitted and aligned, amazing the difference I can feel already like a decent grip on roundabouts, seemed a wee bit skiddish before. Had to run an errand so managed to get it on to the motorway much more civilised at 70mph oh and the best bit is they actually fill out the wheel arches so the motor looks less ridiculous.
