I want a light bar on the grille with an A bar or bull bar, but also one on the roof.

If you are on the public road are you allowed these lights on. Are the roof lights classed as "off road only" and the bull bar type as "fog lights"

Could nayone clear this up for me pleaseeeeee.

We have 2 spots on the bumper which come on with main beam and 4 sets of twin lights on a roof bar which come on as the fog lights. Not illegal just have to be on seperate curcuits.

Yeah additional lamps are not MOT'd so you can pretty much do what you want with them as long as they only come on with main beams for additonal spots or better still, on a separate switch as mentioned above.
I had 4 halogen rallye giant spots and two low level lamps in addition to the headlamps and I never had a problem wit the MOT or the law. The 4 spots came on with main beam and the two low levels came on with extra switch.

I believe lights on the roof are illegal on roads in Britain, regardless of whether they work with main beam or not, this means they are also illegal on Green Lanes!
As long as you don't dazzle other users, or start arguing with Mr Plod so that he starts looking for things to do you for, you should be OK.
I seem to remember reading some where, probably LZ, that so many truckers use then now the Police have given up if they're not doing any harm.

I had this setup on my old ****e car....believe it or not it was a **** take!

Didn't know about the roof bar thing...I see a lot of them about now though.
