Disco 2 XY Problem Solving

Hello,

XY Switch has been replaced for brand new one. Car will now only start up when holding gear stick half way between neutral and reverse. Will not start in park at all.

Presuming that I need to undo the bolt on the stainless steel arm and slide the rod slightly further down so that it will go into and recognise each gear? Apologies for incorrect terminology of parts! Hopefully someone can make head to tail of what I’m trying to explain.

switch is on slotted holes it probably needs aligning with the gear selection

Definitely needs a realignment as jamesmartin stated.
