picked up a pair of track rod ends yesterday from MM4x4 for a disco 300 went to fit them today and they wont fit the part No is correct but these have grease nipples and the original ones didn't.When i screw them into the drag arm they will not go in the last inch but up to that they screw in by hand.Checking the thread against the ones that came out they look the same but haven't had a vernier on them.
Tried a ring spanner over the tapered piece to get a bit more leverage and knackered the drag arm it swelled out and damaged the thread on the TRE.
Could i have been given the wrong part or is the drag arm on my motor the wrong one "Confused from dudley"

The replacement track rod ends often have grease nipples in them so that not anything unusual.

Have you cleaned out the drag link inside before attempting to install the new ball joints? Often they get muck up inside them and corrode.

cleaned as best as possible, the old one still screws in OK its as if the new one is a few thou bigger thread wise.
off to get new drag link and start again!
