Hi, I managed to write off my 2000 110 csw at less than 30mph. Hit some ice, went sideways, ran into a hedge and turned it slowly on its side. Gutted. It was pulled back on its wheels, started first time and was driven the 2 miles home. It only had only done 30k. Boo Hoo. It will be appearing at a salvage yard in Doncaster sometime soon, no chassis damage, all glass intact (except windscreen), full service history. Make a good project vehicle. :(

The replacement is a 2002, 110 csw built as a G4 back up vehicle but not used and just released by Land Rover. ABS, Traction, Aircon, 6000 miles, but no G4 kit. Happy with that, but the only issue is its Orange. Gopping. If you see a bright orange 110 in Worcestershire its probably me, driving with a false moustache and hat. :)

G4 orange is good & it's unused back up vehicle pedigree makes it desirable so it's likely to hold it's value.

Reckon you've had a result!

Surprised the other one was a right off. Not keeping the salvage then?

What was the reason behind scrapping the 110? Was it going to need too much in body work done?

LOL, didnt think it was possible to write off a Defender! Theyre big mechano kits really!

I had a bit of a mishap in the ice too, went through my dads wall... Only a bent bumper though.

insurance companies work on dealer prices fer bits and dealer prices fer fitting the bits. so the repair cost will be a ship load higher than joe bloggs repair shop using bits from paddocks

Yes, the insurance company failed to appreciate the relative simplicity of taking body panels off and replacing them. Not keeping it for salvage, myself. Buy back cost was around £5k, which isn't bad if you can do the repairs yourself. I can't (time and knowledge) so it just didn't make sense. And a bit like Mr Toad, the lure of a shiny new motor car was too much. Poop poop.
