I had the same woo woo wooing noise today, turned out to be the police but they couldn't catch me.:D Yes I'm bored watching the "football", roll on Outback Truckers, that's when the missus goes to bed.:D:D

You could try the dealers. I got a new hub a couple of years back for £180.00. Guess they are wanting to clear the shelves of P38 parts now.

Tried a couple. Official LR price is £549.02! (the part is still available sir) Rimmers are actually cheaper at £543.53!!

So I'm going to go for the autoparts.net version and see how we go. If it's **** I'll report back, in fact if it's great I'll report that back also.

The noise is getting worse so I'm going to have to sort it soon.

Bring it up to the Landyzone weekend and get your money's worth out of it. Can fix it a few weeks after that.

Just posting this in case it's of some use to someone else.
I emailed the Shop 4 Autoparts people about the quality of their bearings. Just to be absolutely sure I know what I was buying. http://www.shop4autoparts.net/ is the retail arm of EAC. A Coventry based company specialising in parts for Land Rover, Triumph, Rover etc.

When asked about the manufacture of their wheel bearing assemblies, they said this...

I can confirm the bearing is Timken. If you buy the part you will see their name and part number etched on the bearing.
We buy the bearing in from them, and put it together with the hub made by an OE supplier here in the West Midlands.
There is no need to worry about any Britpart involvement.

That sounds pretty promising to me. If you haven't got access to a huge press, these are probably the next best thing.

You can almost buy a new Timken bearing AND a press for that money. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heavy-Duty-Hydraulic-Workshop-Garage-Shop-Standing-Press-20t-20-ton-UK-CE-certif-/281634075178?hash=item4192b2f22a:g:3i8AAOSwoJZXRr4P :D:D

Just putting this here for completeness.
The new hub assembly arrived this morning from Shop 4 Auto Parts. Timken bearing fitted as promised. Nicely packaged up and delivered the next day. I can recommend the service.
Although, on the trip to Bristol and back this weekend the bearing stopped making the Woo woo woo noise, and I'm not even sure it's the LHS one now! Bloody cars.
