Morning All,

Firstly although ive been on here for a few years i have to admit this is my first time in the freelander area.. so please be nice...

I brought my mum a freelander for xmas and all was fine unitll this morning when she would'nt let me in (the car not my mum). My mum called me this morning and said she was locked in the car and couldnt get out.. I rushed down and sure enough the car had dead locked with her in it.

After letting her out i tired to lock the car or unlock it with the key fob and nothing, if i open it with the key, then try and start it nothing just the immobiliser light on the dash...

Also when i lock the car (with the key) im getting 1 beep from the horn..

Anyone any ideas, she giving me some stress (the car and them mum) lol

thanks guys

when i lock my car and get a beep its usually because i have a door open or possibly back window open? worth a look. check all of the switches in the doors turn your interior lights on and off when you press them - could be a dodgy connection!

........ Firstly why the hell did you buy your Mum a Freelander if you've been on this forum for years??!!!

I'm sure you are well aware ofthe problems Freelanders have, from all the feedback left on this forum (we Freelander owners are constantly reminded of them, from other users, and personal experience!!)

Solving your issues (bearing i mind, you have been, 'on this forum for years')

1/ replace the batteries in the fob (well documented in other threads) :frusty:

2/ :search:the Freelander threads for this problem (since you know how the forum works!) :violin:

Just sold a Commercial that I bought that was only working on the key and had deadlocks etc. It was starting the car fine however. I changed the battery on both fobs and nothing. Another thing would have been to get the fobs reprogrammed to the car as the fobs lose memory if the battery is out or flat for a long time. I think batteries must be replaced very quickly once out.
I sold the car in the end so never had to get it sorted. As said before one beep is telling you that something is not closed properly.
