Hi there,

I am buying a new landy yay! Spotted a genuine re-built WOLF ffr on milweb http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?21704-Genuine-Wolf-90-FFR

spoke to the chap on the phone, very nice genuine guy so I may well go ahead and buy her, just wondering though, having searched on the forum a lot of people saying its a very different beast to the standard defender how hard it is to get spares etc. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance.

If the guy says he's fitted 2 new batteries then it could be a 24volt system so all the electrics would be non-standard.
Maybe its 12 volt with main and auxillary batteries.
Looks nice and low mileage but seems an awful lot of money for a 13 year old 90. Don't know how much of a premium a Wolf would go for
 
Wolfs always command a ridiculous premium because they are so difficult to get hold of. The MOD tend to repair them ( even write offs) because they are of such value to the MOD. I recall an ex navy fella set up a business repairing military Land Rovers on behalf of the MOD. They are Gonna be hard to find some parts for, but I presume a lot of the drivetrain will be the same as a standard def. Chassis is Different I beleive. It has strengthening and is webbed too.
 
Scotia911 is correct, the whole vehicle is 24v. Seem to remember that the wheel bearings may have been uprated. Alternators may have extra shielding on them to prevent water ingress. Uprated Radius arm bushes. If still equipped with original towing gear it would be pintle with military elecs socket. Nothing you couldn't handle. 15k tho!:eek:
 
DONT BUY IT!!!!! army landrovers get the **** ragged out of them. The doors dont fit properly, windows dont close properly. Whats been rebuilt? Your paying for the bowman fit, rifle racks ect ect when its useless.
 
by the way, im in the army and work with these evey day, so im some what of a subject matter expert on them
