Right after a look round of my new to me F1 I need
New key and fob (old guy who had it before me binned the old one when battery went flat with the key)
Sort out fogs out when it stops raining.
And learn how to work the JVC dab radio (he binned the book for that aswell)
All in all very pleased with my little Landy although they are not as little as i thought they where

You'll obviously need the physical key cut as required.

These people sell Key Fobs for Freelander...

https://remotekey.co.uk/land-rover-freelander-key-fob/

They say it works with both alarm and immobiliser, however, with your car I'm pretty sure the transponder for the immobiliser is in the actual key - so I'd check that with them. Earlier cars had the transponder in the fob - maybe they are the same transponder just shifted location from key to fob and will work in a fob even on later cars.

Yes, its not a good idea to be reliant on just 1 fob/key.

One of ours broke a while back and it was a bit nervous only having 1 to rely on. The clip holding the battery in had come away from the PCB. I tried a watch repairer to see if they could solder it back and they didn't want to know. I then I took it to the little computer shop I use and the guy got his soldering iron out and said he'd have a go. He managed to fix it, so back to 2 now and a bit more relaxed :)

Thats one reason I went for an F1 you can fix things unlike my Disco3 all I can do with it is drive wash and polish☺.
Ho and put loads of Diesel in it.

The D3 isn't to bad, except the suspension bits that are so heavy. It's definitely not as easy to fix as the FL1 though. ;)

2.7 tons of joy I must admit it ranks up there with the best.
But you are still waiting for that noise that will cost more than a decent F2 would.
But it is great car.

Update fogs now working☺ but would like them to work with sidelights and headlights not just with mainbeam.
As for the stereo think I will one of my grandsons to work it out .
Dave

Fog lights shouldn’t work on main beam:eek: something’s been crossed somewhere:oops: ???

J

So I guess next Q is how did you get them working?
Factory fit? Or aftermarket fogs?

J

Factory fit in the bumper I just pressed the switch about twenty times, dont think have been used for years.
They are Cibies think they are standard on the ESX with the soft bullbar.
Dave

Defo only light up when lights on mainbeam everybody knows mainbeam no good in fog they just bounce back at you.

If they're only coming on with the main beam, then they're either spotlights, or foglights wired up as spotlights. If you can see the bulb through the glass, then they're spotlights, but if there's a cap covering the bulb, they're foglights.

Thats sorted then gents they are spots just been out to have a quick look, glad I did cause
I have now got a half flat tyre with a nail sticking out:(
Brand new Avons less than a month old.
