Aye but did you allow for changes in temperature in your calculations? and the inductive cross coupling WRT adjacent wiring which will effect the admittance of the new cabling.

I had a check on that, and can confirm that because the inductivity of air at standard pressure and temperature is 1.0000K, whereas the inductivity of sperm oil is 3.02K to 3.09K, then it seems clear that he would be better using extra double dense flint glass as his insulation as it has a inductivity of no less than 10.1K

I was just wondering if he has fully taken reluctance into account in his thinking. There could be nothing worse when out for a drive with one's young lady, and being parked in a nice quiet spot, to find that reluctance is so high that a proper contact cannot be induced. Resistance can be a problem too in such case but sometimes that can be overcome by inductance, and if that fails it may be worth trying to increase the magnetic moment, thus reducing (1) the strength of one of the poles and (2) the distance between the poles.

Of course, if the hysteresis of the reluctance remains undiminished, the only possible option may be to alternate-her.

Which surely takes us back to this guy pulling his wire too often?
