Hi,
I have had an issue with the wipers for a little while now and thought I would ask some advice. When pulling back on the stalk jets work ok, wipers pass once then on return stop halfway!!? Have to then push down on stalk to return, they all sometimes stop middle of pass when on full anf intermittent? ? Any ideas?
Thanks

might be a relay prob mate

but i would first take motor back off and regrease the spinndle as if thats dry or full of crap it will not work correctly ,well thats what happened on a old rover 200 i had

Hi
I had a problem as mine kept stopping halfway. All I did was replace wiper motor it is one of the easiest things to do and it cured the problem.I got the motor from Island 4x4 good price and quick delivery.while it was off I fitted the little spring clips on the linkage (off e-bay) to take up the slack the wipers are like new now.
I think mine was original motor td4 2002

It's a common problem. Stopping halfway across the screen is normally the switch in the wiper motor. If you are prepared to strip the motor down to clean it, then you should be able to get it working again. Or alternatively, replace the motor.

What Nodge says above. I have just replaced my wiper motor because of exactly the same problem as you have.
Even with a tea break it took me less than an hour.

Well I took out the motor/linkage and drilled rivets etc and cleaned out all the gunk and bent connections as per advice above, put back in car but still having same problems when pulling back on stalk for quick wash/wipe and on intermittent!! should I just replace the motor or get a used complete unit inc linkages? Or should I reopen and adjust the connectors? Should the connectors be inline with the grooved parts?

thanks

Right, I got a whole unit from ebay described as excellent working order! Has a 60 day warranty, and guess what? Itexactly the same as previous original unit, is there anything else I can check before I remove and return? Fuses etc, getting racked off now!!!
Thanks
