wiper stalk exploded on me

as i was taking off my wiper stalk today it decided it would launch its self into a million bits on the footwell.
there is a little copper spring inside am i right in thinking this connects two terminals to create the single wipe if so where do i put it everywhere i have tried just keeps blowing fuses. and with the times as hard as they are i cant afford all theese fuses

buy a new one ,there not expensive

ebays got loads of em...

but buy one for me too,
as my headlights are worked by jamming a matchbox behind the flash mode on stalk..


been like it months.....
