my face lift td4 suffers wiper blade judder, another new set of blades today no change,i have replaced both arms, cleaned screen with all cleaners for glass you can think of even applied this stuff that doesn't let the rain settle that's okay for 3 or 4 wipes then its back to the judder again.i am now at a loss as what to do now its driving me bonkers,i pray for no rain every day but that cure it,autumn and winter approaching fast need a fix quick any body got a remedy for this annoying problem .all help appreciated thanks in advance .

Blade judder is normally due to an incorrect blade angle to the screen. Although a worn wiper linkage can increase its likelihood.

even applied this stuff that doesn't let the rain settle
Rain-X ?

had juddering wipers .. years back ..
1 .. i changed wiper brand ..
2 .. i stopped applying Rain-X to the screen
one or both stopped the juddering occurrences for good ..
( though .. i still add some rain-x screen wash premix .. now and again )

i stick to Bosch standard wipers now ..
( i.e. not the 'aero' type )
no probs. with them yet ..

EDIT ..
at some point i did have to replace linkage ..
maybe that had something to do with it ..
( as in .. don't know for sure .. )

plus .. i make sure the carwash don't spray wax on the windscreen ..

Works perfectly on a motorcycle visor, or any window that doesn't have a wiper. However on a wiped screen, Rain X makes the water bead after the blade has passed, which makes a smeary mess.

For smooth wiper operation, the screen needs to be free of all contaminants (silicone polish, diesel wax, Rain X), the wiper blades need to be at the correct angle to the glass, and the linkage needs minimal free play.

How will i know what the correct angle will be?.
The blade needs to be exactly 90° to the glass when off the screen. This then allows the blade to flip to a trailing angle when the blade is in motion. If the blade doesn't trail, then it will hop over the glass surface as it wipes, which is what the judder actually is. It basically the blade hopping or jumping over the surface, as it moves.

Thanks a lot to everyone who contributed ,all seems well in freelander world again. Oh wiper arm at wrong angle problem solved. Cheers.
