Hello !

more questions i know !! lol

anyhow, I have the fuel burning heater fitted to my TD6, as all diesels were fitted with them.

i know the vogues had the park heating function / remote fob to turn on the heater remotely.

from what i have been reading on other forums, even with the non sat nav screened RR's..ie the HSE i have, it doesnt have the sat nav screen with the FBH timer, even the HSE's could have the remote fob fitted to turn on the heater.

i understand you need a reciever and a fob, and then it needs enabling via the ECU which is fine as my faultmate MSV im soon to be receiving will be able to enable this feature.

well i have ordered the reciever that i believe i need. it is a webasto T90 reciever unit.

i have heard that they are situated in the rear drivers side access panel in the boot by the fusebox. but tonight after searching, i cant find the damn 3 cabled connector i need that will plug into this new receiver.

as far as i know even if the feature wasnt factory fitted, the cabling was already in place ??

Maybe im looking in the wrong place but i cant find a connector.

i have found one connector by the fusebox with 3 cables that match others descriptions but the plug itself is different to all the pictures i have seen on the internet and its different compared to the plug on the receiver i have bought.

see the attached PICTURE:

the cables are the same as the larger plug i think im looking for. all i can think is the early models had a different plug... so maybe a different receiver ? unless webasto sell a converter harness to fit the newer shape plug ?

so what i would really appreciate if someone with one of these units fitted could kindly take a picture of it in place and the location of the cabling ??

i think all vogues had them fitted.

would really appreciate it.

Cheers guys :D

You could always start the engine 5 minutes before you leave to warm it up like us poor impoverished P38 owners do and save yourself a packet on the extra hardware and failure potential LOL

I have no remote start fob - how else would I tell?? what would I be looking for in the engine bay??

If you have one fitted you should have a small exhaust outlet under the O/S wheel arch

The heater itself is mounted under the battery
You can see it if you remove the wheel arch liner

Plus is should be kicking in with the colder weather

I though that it was temperature programable? It can also be switched off.

Several Jags and Rangies with this pre-heat system went up in flames - perhaps the TSB to sort it was to remove the wiring for unattended operation!

Hi hippo, Ive just come in from the garage now after re assembling my FBH :) I like you have just started thinking about the upcom, ing winter and thought it would be less hassle for the wife, after looking I already had the T90 Receiver but never got a remote with the car, I ordered one off a guy on eBay for £20 brand new Bargain!! anyway programmed it and it works greatt, the FBH on the otherhand does not :( Thats why ive had it in bits today, for the record it was mint inside with no fuel build up or any carbon deposits, looks to me like its never been run since new so im now looking at teh fuel pump as this seems not to be working, honestly I suspect the ECU from all the 100 odd posts ive read about this issue but will try pump first as its cheaper.
Anyway the Reciever sits behind the rear fuse holder on the top right, so when you look at the front you wouldnt actually see it unless you knew where to look, I only found mine by looking for the multi plug and the antenna coax that plug into the picture you posted. The whole fuseboard can come off its just one 6mm bolt and then it hinges away. I say this as seeing where mine is located I would imagine the cabling for it would be tucked well away behind there. The plug you found looks similar to the one I recently utilised when fitting my dedicated wiring kit for the wesfalia towbar.

Let me know if you want me to take a few pics of mine and I will nip out and do it.
Cheers

Hi mate

Thanks for your reply

That would be really good if you could take a couple of pictures, especially showing the plug to the ECU reciever.

I already have the genuine Towbar wiring and ECU installed so I can't see that cable being for that.

Going by your description on the location of the reciever that plug of mine does seem to be in the right area

What year is yours ?

Much appreciated
Thanks

Mines an 05 but the T90 RREceiver is listed as fitting all upto 09. Will nip out now pull the cubby hole cover off and take a picture, might not have time to remove the whole fuseboard thingy as got training at 6, but youll get the idea of what I mean when you see it.
