Hi all,

My drivers side wing mirror no longer adjusts on my Discovery 2.

I was wondering if this was a common fault and what the problem usually is, whether its a small motor or actuators
needs replacing?

I have had a look around the internet but can not find anything specific.

Would be grateful for a bit of help,

Thankyou

Mine wouldn't work and it was as simple as the glass not being clipped in properly. My mate unclipped it and put it back in locating it correctly on the moving part in the mirror surround and all was well.

it has two motors in it one for vertical and one for horizontal adjustment and it's quite unlikely they failed both at the same time(not impossible though) so it could be a wiring/bad contact issue or problem within the switch needs investigations before spending money... if you are familiar with electric diagrams you'llknow what and how to check according to the diagrams and connector views from RAVE... if not you'll need an electrician.

Thanks very much, i,m familiar with electrical drawings so will have a look

Oh and I'm such a newbie, what is RAVE?

There is a plug behind the plastic trim on the inside of door, check that for power. Mine stopped workin and when the window also failed, I took the doorcard off and found a break in the wires for both mirror and window.

Thanks Paradisco I will check that.

And thankyou sierrafery I will get myself over there!
Much appreciated

I never touch the door mirror adjustment from one year to the next, although once when I tried the mirror didn't move but a quick splash of WD40 behind the mirror and readjusting while pressing the mirror at the same time the same direction got it moving again in all directions.

Cheers mate, I will give it a spray too.

I had the mirror off today and got nothing at all on the adjustment.
The heater works as does the power fold so will have a play.
