wipers just off loaded some soft snow from overnight from my windscreen. They struggled a bit.... Just activated the intermittant wipers and they stop in the middle of the windscreen, thinks for a few seconds then continues. so basically I end up with the wipers constantly blocking my view. They work perfectly on normal wiper action. Any clues anybody??
Thanks in advance.

Try the search button...this worked for JerryB

Thanks for that, I take it the search button is easy to locate?? I will have a crack at it when the snow bogs off. Thanks again.

just one last 'Q' before I get to work on the motor, Is there a relay of some sort near to the fuse box, drivers side. I can hear clicking coming from there when the blade keeps stopping across my windscreen. Just wondering if I have knackered something else with the weight of the snow from yesterday??

Search for my previous posting,
Remove wiper arms, and then plastic panel to reveal wiper motor. Remove wiper motor complete, and then drill out rivets to remove cover. You will find that one of the contacts has burnt out clean reform the contact by bending it, and then clean the track it runs on. refit cover and replace on car then bingo away you go

The intermittant wiper problem is all done and dusted thanks to you guys. Just finished doing the following if it helps anyone else.
1,Removed both wipers marking were they were on the windscreen.
2, Removed about 12 plastic caps and screws from the front plastic cover underneath the wipers
3, Lifted up the plastic cover which conceals the wiper motor.
4, Disconnected the power supply to the wiper motor and unbolted the 3 screws, removing the motor completely.
5, Drilled out the 5 rivets to the plate next to the connected wiper motor.
6, cleaned all the white gunk from inside, used a fine screwdriver to lift out the burnt piece of copper from one of the rails inside the rotary pivot. Gently filed the 3 copper fillaments and bent them a bit further back into position.
7, Replaced the rivets with 3 self tapping screws.
I then put it all back together and it works perfectly.
The only mistake I think I made was losing the cover to the wiper nut which dropped into the bowls of the engine never to be seen again.
Thanks again chaps, I think your threads saved me a fortune and lots of frustration watching my wipers sticking in front of my nose.
Cheers,
Nick.

Finally got round to sorting my intermittent wiper problem today

I was surprised at the amount of grease that had managed to clog up the contacts and the copper disc.

Before cleaning and after cleaning pics attached....re fitting the motor in the morning ...so I'm hoping its ok.

Edited a day later .... Intermittent is now working brilliantly...just got rid of the grease and bingo! ;) :)
